The Best Chocolate Cake Recipe in the World
This is hands down the best ever chocolate cake I have made.
It’s a serious fuck-off-im-a-chocolate-cake kind of cake. It’s the cake that you will make, and everyone will remember you for it. You will be known as the person that makes that wicked-fuck-off chocolate cake. So be warned, if you make this, you will be making it all the time. I’m sorry/you’re welcome.
The whole point of this cake is for it to be easy. Slap it together, shove it in the oven and take it to whatever last minute event you have been asked to bring something to. Or, in my case, whip it up because you have a chocolate addiction and too much time on your hands. That said, it took less than 7 minutes to get this into the oven.
Ugly delicious, forget the fancy photography
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups of plain/tipo/000 (whatever they call basic flour in your country) flour
2 cups of caster sugar
1 cup good quality cocoa powder (I used Hershey’s)
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
2 cups water
2/3 cup melted butter
Ganache Icing
1 cup cream
1 cup chocolate chips
Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl
Add in all the wet ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
Pour into a greased cake tin or tray…or whatever you have that can go into the oven.
Bake for 30 mins or until a skewer comes out clean. Allow cake to cool.
Mix cream and chocolate chips together and melt in the microwave. Heat for 30 seconds, stir, heat, stir.. until well combined and smooth. Place in fridge to cool.
Ice the cake with the icing once the cake has cooled.
Grab a fork and eat the cake standing in the kitchen in your loungewear.
